An epic rock opera - and one of the best of all time, in my humble opinion. I'd rank it right up there with Pink Floyd's The Wall and The Who's Tommy. For those who may be too young to know the details, 2112 tells the story of life under the rule of The Red Star of the Solar Federation. The idea is that by the year 2112, apocalyptic events will have occurred that leave humanity under the control of The Priests of the Temple of Syrinx. And while the sci-fi plot is interesting enough on its own - the music is stellar and diverse - a masterpiece that solidified Rush as a super-group in the progressive rock universe and launched them on a 40-year journey through the galaxy. Awesome share! 🥂 Thank you, steamsy. R.I.P. Neil Peart, their awesome drummer who died last January. ☮ |
