 | With some movies, the cover draws you in, but with this movie, I was actually a little put off by the cover and title, but then I looked at the comments and mixed reviews, studied the ticket price carefully :D and decided to give it a go. Full disclosure: I didn't see the first one, so I can't compare 'em but I thought this one was a lot of fun. The vibe that comes to mind is Kill Bill on LSD. Hilarious and bloody at the same time, with a puppy-love story thrown in to take the edge off. Credible performances by the cast, great FX, and one of the most colorful films I've seen all year, and by that I mean the sets and costumes and props - it was like someone dropped a bucket of rainbow paint on all of the sets. The soundtrack is also worth mentioning ... although they only played short clips of most of the tracks. Cut to the chase: video and audio were, as usual, excellent. I'd say open a bag of Doritos and a cold beer and enjoy the wacky mayhem. Thanks GalaxyRG. B) |
