 | a general principle for all torrents is that you should seed at least to a ratio of 1:1. or over that however long you want, or indefinitely. although, these news seeds don't get much action after time goes on, as many seem to leech them and don't seed, so goes torrenting. still, sometimes someone will download a very past torrent and it is nice for them to have someone seeding them. some of this will be proportional to how much hdd space one has. if only individuals got as much thrill seeding as leeching then, well, a metaphor for everything really. unfortunately many people don't like to seed when downloading public torrents, instead it is overwhelmingly hit and run. really though Pawpcorn and LarMer both seed fast for their uploads and there aren't nearly it seems an extraordinary number of downloads of these news torrents. even with additional seeders their blazing fast seeding usually far outrun the other seeds. with all that said, the higher the ratio the better. plus, the nature of bittorrent is that the more are in the swarm, especially the seeds, the more efficient the downloading. so in conclusion, do whatever you feel like. |

 | Hi, bornahyard, and thanks for the question, and sorry for my delayed response. As our "Guest user" said, basically, as long as you can, comfortably. At least a couple days would be greatly appreciated, and a week :) (or TWO? 8o ) would be terrific. In as these are generally considered "news"... the news becomes "olds" and obsolete, fairly quickly... but the exception to that rule might be the interviews, which it seems some people may find of interest... well after the original "airing". LarMer has generously contributed the services of his seedbox, for helping my (and his) torrents stay solidly seeded, but I BELIEVE he only can keep these on his seedbox for 3 days, if memory serves me correctly. Myself? I have to go right to bed after the early presentations of Morning Joe, in as I'm residing in the Far East, so I'm very reliant on his generous services. IE I shut things down after 2 people are seeding them, and cross my fingers hoping for good luck. The other 5 shows I post... I'll only be seeding them for a couple hours, but in these political times... these excellent MSNBC shows "have legs", as they say, and may tend to naturally get seeded by the world populace... for a number of days, at least... :) Take care, and stay safe, :love Pawpcorn |
