The now famous Burt Gummer returns to his hometown of Perfection, Nevada for the first time in years, but the deadliest Graboid evolution yet forces him to save the town he swore to protect.



Ormai divenuto uno specialista nella caccia ai graboidi - o "shriekers", come sono stati chiamati i mostri dopo la mutazione in bipedi, avvenuta nel film precedente - Burt Gummer (M. Gross), reduce da una spedizione in Argentina dove ha sterminato un'orda di quelle creature, decide di tornarsene a casa. Ma il minuscolo villaggio di Perfection, Nevada, è ormai un'attrazione turistica, e brulica di visitatori, curiosi di osservare i luoghi in cui ha avuto inizio la vicenda. I pochi residenti, vecchi e nuovi, fanno ovviamente del loro meglio per sfruttare la situazione. Un giorno però, durante lo spettacolo quotidiano che ricostruisce dal vivo l'insidia dei graboidi, attori e spettatori hanno la brutta sorpresa di vedersi assaliti da mostri veri: le orribili creature non sono scomparse, come si credeva, ma hanno proliferato, ed una ulteriore mutazione le ha rese ancor più micidiali. La vacanza di Gummer è già terminata...
