I realize Star Trek Discovery is popular but is it really Star Trek? I saw 2 seasons  and started season3 but lost interest. It was pretty mediocre to me, yes it tries to be glitzy and has impressive effects but personally i prefer Voyager, STTNG, DS9, Enterprise and of course the orginal series.

I have all the episodes so am planning to start it up again from where i left off (one day) .
I`d be curious to hear from people  if and why they like this series

My biggest peev that  really annoys me that the girl is called Michael burnam.  I know that there are some women on the planet called Michael but... is the some sort on non binary thing. Of course that not the sole reason, but i really  want to cover my ears when i hear her name. haha:_facepalm

I have been watching Star Trek since 1968 .. yes, I am that old :_:D I, too lost interest in "Discovery" after Season 2.
Maybe I'm biased, but it didn't have the real Star Trek "feel" to it.
I am, however anticipating the return of Star Trek Picard.

Its simply something the creator (Bryan Fuller) does, he did the same in Pushing Daisies & Dead Like Me.

Maybe it's due to the generation gap and the advancements in technology, i like SciFi space adventure shows, star wars, star trex, lost in space, another life, the expanse and so on but i don't like seeing the classic shows since i started seeing theses in the last decade or so i am comfortable with the lastest way of presenting theses shows, those who started to see the old ones may not like the present trun of events, i loved discovery, it's one of the few shows i re-watched after agent of shield, first 2 seasons were a blast, 3 and 4 have a lot of drama along with action, i been waiting to see species 10c for the last 2 episodes but some how Saru's love life is more important LOL, but i still like the show very much, some how having meaningful relationship and Melodrama have taken over many shows and i have been seeing such shows turns into comedy sitcoms, past shows were on to point, action, fight, adventure, seems golden days are ending for legacy shows.

I started watching Discovery when season 1 was airing the first time but didnt finish the whole season 1.

Got all 3 complete seasons and season 4 episodes that are out.

Maybe i should check Picard.

Been a ST fan for a long time and watched TNG, DS9 and Voyager many times.

If you do, recommend you rewatch STTNG film Nemesis first;  as there is  some key elements from that u will need to remember.
Even tho i saw Nemesis many years ago i was a bit lost when watching "Picard", so had to rewatch Nemesis then it made alot more sense..lol:_B)

Q1. Patrick Stewart whilst filming Next Generation, left his wife of 25 years for one of these women pictured above. Subsequently they dated for 2 years and got engaged. Whom was it?  (numbers 1 to 11) Dare you take a guess?

I wont reveal the answer for awhile tho.. This is so people can put their guesses without being to late too the party.
I got one other picture question thing like this that i mocked up, but i save it for now see how his one goes. If others fancy mocking up some Trek Trivia for us to engage with similar to this i have no objections! :_B)

I currently started on Picard season 2 for a binge weekend and spotted the name Lea Thompson for the director credits on the episode I watching s02e03. Sure enough IT IS the right Lea Thompson from Back to the future fame.

I couldn't watch Season 1 of Picard. After about 3 episodes, I called it quits.

The second season wasn't without plot "holes" but it certainly was much better than 1.

And after watching S2, it really enforces how much of a prick Spiner is. He didn't really have to act much for his role. All you had to do is read his tweets. He's like a Bill Shatner with is arrogance.

Picard s01 i must admit i wasnt too keen on; it was ok. it got more interesting  as the episodes progressed, u need to have rewatched the Nemesis movie tho to get the "Data" parts of the plot. 2nd season was much better watch.  

As for Spiner i imagine he doesnt get alot of work so feels the need to give (what he deems as) a good performance. Soongs have a genetic need for recognition, narcissism, egotisticalness etc. This Soong had no qualms about imposing a totalatarian nightmare for his own self grandisement no matter of it meant running over an old man and poisoning astronauts. If u ever saw any of the convention Q&A vids yeh he may seem a bit of a jerk and full of it. He`s got a wild sense of humor is all, he`s pretty out there but i dont mind him.

For me i actually had a problem with Patrick Stewarts acting (both seasons) in that i feel he`s forgotten how to act as Picard, yeh he`s an old man now but it feels like we just watching Patrick Stewart being Patrick Stewart. Picard was made of sterner stuff.

My other complaint was replacing the actress that played the Borg Queen with another actress, we already had 2 different actress` play The Borg Queen, This being the 3rd .

I`d be curious to hear your thoughts about Star Wreck you are a fan? seems to have a cult following in your country?, there is alot of fan made Trek, sometimes they manage to get real cast from Star Trek, i saw Tuvok and Ensign kim in some fan made things. They not for everyone but can see the appeal.
