Looking for something for both Gaming and Torrenting and I'm looking at these different models... Any insight you may have on which would be best is appreciated!

Play a lot of GTAV, AOE III and a huge library of Steam Games

Torrenting just moderately sized torrents as of right now, but will quickly be expanding to editing movies/tv shows (and uploading)

My choices(not listed in any order):

1.) HP - Pavilion Desktop - Intel Core i3 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive + 128GB Solid State Drive - HP Finish In Natural Silver

2.) ASUS - Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i7-9700K - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 - 1TB Hard Drive + 512GB Solid State Drive - Iron Gray

3.) Package - HP - Pavilion Desktop - AMD Ryzen 3-Series - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - HP Finish In Ash Silver and 24f 23.8" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor - Natural Silver

4.) HP - OMEN Obelisk by HP Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti - 512GB Solid State Drive - Shadow Black Front Bezel/Dark Chrome Logo

5.) Acer - Aspire Gaming Desktop - AMD Ryzen 5-Series - 8GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti - 1TB Hard Drive - Black/gray

6.) ASUS - ROG Huracan G21CX Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i9 - 9900K - 32GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 - 1TB Solid State Drive - Iron Gray

I should also point out, max I'm willing to put into it is USD (for a pre-built) 3k, and most of my experience is with Acer's and Asus's. Not looking for anything I have to build on my own (no experience in such)

I build my own. Acer is garbage!!! that's Walmart discount BS
I like ASUS personally.
If you want to spend 3k have at it.
You can have one built for considerably less.
32 GB memory isn't necessary unless your future proofing it. You'll never use more than 1/3 of the memory.
I have 32GB but that's because I ran across a Bogo [buy 1 get 1].

What's the best place to have one built at? I personally don't have the time because of work to fiddle with doing my own

best thing is to go to your nearest pc shop that has a good reputation (thats what I did)
told him what I wanted and what my budget was and ended up with this:-

If you're into heavy gaming then you're not going to be going with anything under an i7 or similar, so you can write of #1 and #4.

Build you're own or get someone to build it for you...waaaaay cheaper :)

Best All-in-One: Apple iMac. Buy on AmazonBuy on B&H Photo Video. Apple's iMac remains the same stunningly designed all-in-one desktop computer that's been impressing for almost two decades.

If you are seriously into gaming 8GB of ram is going to impose some limitations on
what games you can play, I would recommend at least 16GB and your budget would
allow 32GB.
The Ryzen 3 onboard graphics (option3) has a max resolution of 1366x768, you will notice this on 23" screen.

Try and get away from the packages that HP and Acer are selling and as said before get a computer shop
to make up what you want, but this not rocket science if you want to have go yourself.
I like a idea that has become popular this side of the pond, you buy a bundle that has a 3 year warranty
example:
https://www.cclonline.com/category/301/Motherboard-Bundles/
This allows you to buy your own case, graphics card and whatever other extras you want + a lot of the
difficult stuff is done for you :)

Tough question this....8o

I`d have to say LIGHTS:-):-)....ya gotta go for one with loads of flashing stuff and cooooool as fuq lights on it:-*:-*
If your gonna be paying loads of cash then you want summat that looks cool when your NOT using it aswell:P:D
Blinking lights are a must and multi coloured displays will be great too if you can get them also:-)
I suggest one of them ones with the ripple mood lighting effect under the keys on the keypad:love:love:love....i got stoned as fuq at my mates house recently and his keyboard was mesmerizing to look at...B)...i swear i was getting moist just watching it, but i couldn`t be sure as i was well mashed at the time so it could have been a little wee....but it was still moist so you never know:)

Once you have the cool as fuq lights then i suggest listening to one of the suggestions above cos thats all i know about techie stuff and i think you actually need more than just cool lights sometimes...?8o

Merry Chrimbo Everyone:-):-*:love

If you have the money, I'd say get it built to spec. I have a buddy that builds them and his tower looks like R2D2, it's about 3' high, has all the lights, bells and whistles and remote control. his monitor is a 50" and gaming with his machine is a whole new experiance. To me his machine is overkill, but I don't write code, develope software/hardware, hack or build computers. But whatever you need it for, always go a step bigger, cuz you will need it a couple years down the road.

Personally, for gaming I never select branded PC ...you will never be able to get the desired performance with money in branded ....instead of in an assembled solution.

The only way to get everything you want and nothing you don't is to build it yourself or have it built to your specifications

You might want to consider the Ryzen 9 3900X, okay it's a hundred bucks more but it comes with the cooler.
It is 25% faster doing encoding using Handbrake
https://www.pcmag.com/comparisons/amd-ryzen-9-3900x-vs-intel-core-i9-9900k-which-high-end-cpu-to-buy

I can't help on the BluRay drive, I usually cache the disk to hard drive before the encode as it's quicker.
I recommend WD Black hard drives as they take the punishment :_:)

The Ryzen 9 3900X wins hands down. It comes with support for 3,200MHz DDR4 memory and a 70MB L3 cache. The Core i9-9900K has lower peak memory-speed support (2,666MHz) and a much smaller 16MB of L3 cache.
Also the Ryzen 9 3900X has 12 cores and 24 threads while the i9 9900K has only 8 cores and 16 threads.

I am not a gamer unless its playing board games or cards lol :) but i can certainly say after upgrading to a Ryzen from an i5 the performance is amazing and using photoshop and doing a lot of video editing its doing brilliant :) but do remember that no matter what a good Nvidia still comes out top when it comes to Graphic cards :) :_love:_love:_love

Bro, I had very bad experiences with both LG and Asus Blu-ray writers......may be it was way back in 2017...things may be looking good with some new models out ....but as far as my experience in the hardware industry...I have heard a lot of good things about Pioneer brand as far as Blu-ray writer are concerned  ....they actually last longer than others....though a bit expensive.

Yep, that's why AMD(cpu) + Nvidia(gpu) is the deadly combination for gaming.......and instead of fully allocating budgets to these 2 components (which most of us do)....I usually try to balance the performance by getting better SSD (now Nvme2) + 16 to 32GB of compatible low latency high speed RAM as these 2 are the slowest components of the system.

Long time back for me it was an art......all of them complementing each other on a compatible/reliable mobo (brand like gigabyte)  without any bottlenecks.

Yes I'm looking at Pioneer BDR-212DBK, as when I used the old LG BluRay drive I had some troubles with Warner Bros BluRays, it was a damn inconvenience
wow i still have an old pioneer thats not been used in some time but it was faithful to me and probably still working but old now :) burnt many a disc with it and no problems :) :_love:_love:_love

LOL
Looks fishy & funny to me .....the Specialist will club some low in demand products....smartly...with incomplete & unnecessary details to make it look like a complete package.

1) Windows 10 home sitting on this behemoth?
2) Bull guard internet security .
3) Low speed hdd is first storage device....high speed M2 is 2nd storage device....??:_:)
4) RAM Corsair Vengeance CAS timings???.....3000 or 3200 MHZ.
5) Wireless network card ...which company??
6) Blu-ray company??

Unnecessary:
1) Office software trail
2) Browser??:_:)
3) There is no thunderbolt option (or may be in mobo) there...USB is already in mobo and in/supported by case.
4) Power cable comes with PSU.
5) Standard thermal paste... lol.

If this guy was serious and really that kind of helpful..... then he should have added something useful like:

https://www.amazon.com/OneLeaf-Multi-Purpose-Management-Adjustable-Electronics/dp/B083FKB7BL/

Why this Specialist is fishy?....because he makes you believe: "LOOK  I am giving u SOOOO MUCH...for your money" .....plus we are not sure whether he will pay his VAT sincerely...probably will use his clever CA to adjust..... some of the components already have lifetime warranty ( i.e. 10 years warranty) aka corsair RAM. M2. firecuda may have 5 years warranty.......never heard Firecuda with M2:_:) ....may be new models are out there.

Still you are spending too much on processor and gpu (u may not agree ....that's my point of view.....) if some sys. builder provides me with this type of spec. sheet ...i will certainly never meet him again :_:)

Further i will look for more details about RAM & HDD specs....their model number and try to compare it with some Gskill RAM (3200MHZ with low CAS) primary storage will be Gen4 PCIe, M.2 2280, 3D NAND SSD with 5 years warranty.
https://www.gamingpcbuilder.com/best-m-2-nvme-ssd/
superior performance with 33$ difference .......may be compensating by buying a slightly low end model of GPU .......EVGA (is my favorite) ...again no model or company name for GPU:_:) fyi...same Nvidia GPU card may have different GPU & RAM  frequency/speed .

these guys may fill their pockets by specifying high end (appearing) incomplete specs. to the customers.

I am not into this anymore ...otherwise helped you with full specs.....you can consult some at https://pcpartpicker.com/ and verify them by googling or visiting forums tomshardware  .this will help you both to enhance your knowledge and to arrive at a conclusion.

Usually for personal system I use to shortlist the components (after researching extensively...) ...smartly adjusting my budget allocation to the components ...and buy them from separate shops with best price deals ....finally assembling them @ my home.....never got so much VAT (even when combined)....may be it's  less in my country:_:)........plus I am Mrs free :_:D
