Seriously, don't destroy memories and stories (since placement in map's location and age doesn't even matches the probably skin color). Wanna make a new story about (let's say) a half black, half Asian but Russian Orthodox mermaid? Be my guess! But make something new, don't destroy something we already like and love. It says that the ship where Ariël first sees the prince on, carries "the flags of all nations in the world". Not even in 1837 people thought all the nations in the world where white. | Disney wrote a script for this movie in the late 1930. Then, after the success of Splash, made a new script with incorporation of the 1930's changes to the original story in the 1980s. Nothing about the little mermaid is 'original'. Not now, not in 1989, not in the 1930s. Selective outrage is unnecessary. |
