Masaru Kato muore in un incidente in cui si trova suo malgrado coinvolto. Stranamente, si risveglia in una stanza che non ha mai visto. Lì incontra i membri del cosiddetto “Team Tokyo”, il cui leader, Kurono, è appena morto. Assieme a loro, Masaru viene trasferito a Osaka City, una città circondata da un oceano di fuoco. A questo punto, Masaru si trova coinvolto in un gioco di sopravvivenza, di vita o di morte: si scontra con la squadra rivale, il “Team Osaka”, i cui membri sono una manica di furfanti; lotta con gli alieni; conosce Anzu Yamasaki, madre single e membro del Team Osaka. In balia dei vari eventi, Masaru continua a combattere per riuscire a tornare a casa dal fratello, l’unico membro rimasto della sua famiglia.
