 | Watched it. The movie's dialogue reminds me Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. Bateman and Fassbinder's character suffer from some of the same traits.... narcissism , delusions, arrogance and the need to convince us - by narration - that he has his own unique view of what the world is REALLY like. The first 20 minutes of the movie the killer laments about the state of the world. We get an insight into his mind. Fassbender’s deadpan narration is central to its wittiness, as is his character’s fondness for The Smiths. His alias's are all from sitcoms - Archie Bunker, George Jefferson to name two. The movie lacks the grit. The movie became boring, not what one would expect from Fincher. |
