This is the best source of this show that I have heard. Since it is taken from the laserdisc, the sound is superb.    (2001-06-24)

FYI- 'Fear' was released by Crystalline Records. These were a couple of guys who were friends of that jerk who ran Prism Records. I think this was their only release. It was ripped right from the laserdisc of "GUP Tour".   (2005-03-23)

This boot was extraordinarily recorded despite it doesn’t have the same great quality as other memorable boots (not the quality claimed for a ripped version - the GUP video is better). Neverthless, it captures the whole picture: the crowd, the music, the energy. There are very few moments where Geddy speaks. Maybe the bass is kind of low and distant but noticeable. Since the venue is RUSH ’s hometown (at least it is in Ontario, Willowdale is their town) you couldn’t expect less. The reggae stylish segment toward the end of “The Spirit of Radio” is more powerful than other versions. Listening to “The Enemy Within” live and with this energy, you (at least I did) forget the horrendous video they made. With “The Weapon”, “Witch Hunt”, “New World Man” and “Distant Early Warning” these guys demonstrate their versatility and musical creativity with different tempos and rhythms. “Red Sector A” sounds amazing, despite Alex’s riff in the distortion that seems to have missed a note or two –as if he hadn’t got the pitch-. Maybe I am too demanding. I liked his solo in “Closer to the Heart” though. “YYZ” is paired up with “The Temples of Syrinx”. To me there is a change in the sound that makes the segment a little bit noisy and the guitar is higher. The guys make no pause and immediately perform “Tom Sawyer”. Then “Vital Sign” takes you back to that groovy style, the bass practically disappears. However, this is consistent with “Finding My Way” (very short) and “In the Mood” where the guitar takes over.    (2007-08-06)
