I really wanted to like this, but it was clearly made by people who were too young to remember the 80s, so they end up getting a lot of little details wrong. They show an NES Classic Edition from 2016 instead of an actual NES, they confuse LCD with LED, they show Genesis footage when talking about 8bit consoles, etc. A lot of it is redundant, where the narrator will say some factoid, and then a person being 'interviewed' says the same exact thing again 5 seconds later. This happens very often; it feels like they're just padding out the running time. The only good parts are at the beginning when they're talking about the history of the company before video games - but I can't even vouch for the quality of that information, since they get so much else wrong. You're better off watching any number of gaming history videos on YouTube. |
oh ok! i was going to watch it but with that, maybe not. thanks! |
I agree with Jose who has no name, it's bad..... who are those people talking , there is a guy with a Mario T-shirt who seems to never have played the game 🤣🤣🤣, the hipster so-called game studio owner?? which studio??? She never played on the Nes/Snes i guarantee you!! Anyways it's really bad in every way, the people who talk are not qualified to do so, they don't seem to know what they are talking about nor do they seem to care either, At least try to come across like you enthusiastic????? No just skip this nonsense and wait for a better one or check youtube. |
There are a lot of Incorrect things in this, any youtuber could have done this better. Mega Drive was a 16 Bit system, Master System was a 8-bit system. Thats not a Nintendo entertainment System thats a NES-Mini. It's like watching a documentary from people whose knowledge goes about as far as "SUPER MARIO BROS 2 ISN'T REALLY SUPER MARIO BROS 2!!" yeah. no shit. If your looking for some deep cut lore, just check out the gaming historian on youtube For Retro Gaming games and Addons or Top Hat Gaming, Who goes into Details on Characters, Games, Game Stories and more OR If your looking into more detailed stuff check out "KONG FIST OF QUARTERS" - A documentary about the Champion of Donkey Kong thats still going on today with Drama. |
I guess who directed this docu didnt want old white men talking about it so they got younger and woke generation (who didnt have a clue about the 90s era and the console wars) |
Why would old white men need to talk about it...specifically? There were other races back then that played Nintendo. Seems like you need it to be old white men for it to be a proper documentary in your eyes. I guess only old white men can tell the story of NINTENDO. |
I tried to like the documentary, but it's way too succinctly and imprecisely presented. Also, as JoseNoName expressed previously, there's a series of mistakes around devices and denominations. I recommend, for historical and technichal precision, the youtube series ef The Gaming Historian. |
