La piccola Wen, adottata dalla coppia formata da Eric e Andrew si appresta a una gioiosa vacanza in una baita in mezzo al bosco quando viene avvicinata da un uomo inquietante. In seguito un quartetto di persone irrompe nella baita con la forza e, dopo una breve e inutile colluttazione, immobilizza i due genitori di Wen e comunica loro di essere lì perché guidati da una visione: la loro famiglia è stata scelta per prendere una decisione molto difficile, una decisione dalla quale dipenderanno le sorti del mondo.
