James meets John, a close friend of his, with whom he had quarreled three years ago and persuades him to go visit their third friend Aldo, who is dying in Sicily. A Milano, di notte, Giacomo suona a casa di Giovanni. Questi va ad aprire, lo vede e gli sbatte la porta in faccia. E' Aldo ad intervenire, dicendo che per conoscere i fatti bisogna tornare indietro. Tre anni prima. Il terzetto vive in grande amicizia. Li accomuna il sogno di mettere in scena il Cyrano di Bergerac. Ma intanto, per vivere, Aldo fa la comparsa al teatro dell'Opera; Giovanni ha il ruolo di statua vivente in un centro commerciale; Giacomo fa il doppiatore di serial e telefilm. Anche la vita sentimentale non li lascia tranquilli.
In Milan, at night, Giacomo plays at Giovanni's house. He goes to open it, sees it and slams the door in his face. E 'Aldo to intervene, saying that to know the facts must go back. Three years ago. The trio lives in great friendship. They share the dream of staging the Cyrano of Bergerac. But in the meantime, to live, Aldo makes his appearance at the Opera House; Giovanni has the role of a living statue in a shopping center; Giacomo is a dubber of serials and TV series. Even the love life does not leave them in peace.
