La vicenda umana e il caso processuale di Aldo Braibanti - partigiano e pensatore, oltre che scrittore e poeta - che venne condannato nel 1968 per plagio (reato istituito dal fascismo, poi cancellato dal codice penale), imputazione dietro cui si celava un’accusa di omosessualità, suscitando nell'Italia dei tempi un ampio e profondo dibattito e un sollevamento degli intellettuali che intervennero a sua difesa.
