For anyone old enough to remember and appreciate Kansas, this album, although dated 2021, contains a live radio performance recorded in 1976 in Pittsburgh. The audio has been cleaned up and mastered in the studio and is considered by critics and fans to be one of their best live recordings, designed to drum up support for sales of 'Left Overture', which came out at about the same time. Hence the name 'Left Over the Airwaves'. For die-hard Kansas fans, this is a fun cruise down memory lane and a great addition to anyone's vintage progressive rock library. When you consider the complexity of their musical arrangements and multi-layered harmonies, and the fact that it was ripped from a live radio broadcast, the audio quality and the performance itself are both pretty amazing. Check it out on a home stereo, so you can tweak the sound a little. Stand-out track: 'Carry On Wayward Son'. They nailed it. Thank you pmedia |
