Kamala Harris interview: Gender Pay, Barr bias, obstruction
Presidential candidate and Senator Kamala Harris is launching a new plan to close the gender wage gap, that would force corporations to prove they are paying equally across genders or face strict fines from the federal government. In a new interview with MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent, Ari Melber, Harris also discusses the Mueller report and Trump’s Attorney General Bill Barr, noting Barr “has clearly demonstrated his bias in favour of the President and not in favor of Justice.”
Kamala Harris's dream running mate: Muhammad Ali
2020 candidate Sen. Kamala Harris joined MSNBC's Ari Melber for a lightning round of questioning, where they touched on her dream running mate, her favorite cooking recipe, her favorite album, and why she quoted Bob Marley in her announcement speech.
Kamala Harris: “Women deserve to be paid as much as men"
2020 Presidential candidate Senator Kamala Harris is out with a new plan to hold corporations accountable for gender pay gaps, requiring them to receive a certification to prove they are paying men and women equally for analogous work and fining them if they fail to do so. Harris said this plan did not amount to public shaming, but rather is a means of positive reinforcement to incentivize corporations to treat their workers fairly. Harris highlighted the gender wage gap statistics, in which on average women make 80 cents for every dollar men do, emphasizing that the gap is even more stark for Latinas and black women.
Kamala Harris goes in on Barr: Can’t do job, he’s “biased” toward Trump
Presidential candidate Senator Kamala Harris harshly criticized Attorney General Bill Bar, who she said is “biased” toward President Trump, in an interview with MSNBC’s Ari Melber. Responding to Barr’s appearance on Fox News, and a new interview with the Wall Street Journal, Harris said Barr believes his first duty is to Trump and not the American people.
