Fmr Prosecutor: Trump AG 'frightened' to face Mueller questions
House Democrats are escalating the pressure on Trump’s Attorney General Bill Barr and Barr threatens to skip his scheduled testimony before the House Judiciary Committee in response as Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Mueller’s former boss, resigns from the Department of Justice. Former Prosecutor Joyce Vance tells The Beat, if Barr “cannot defend his behaviour” regarding the Mueller report for “30 mins, then he should be ashamed”.
Joe Biden hammers Trump 'lies' in first campaign rally
Early polling shows former Vice President Joe Biden leading the Democratic 2020 field, but the majority of Democratic voters are still undecided. Former Clinton adviser Peter Daou tells The Beat that Democrats must reclaim conversations that are being had “on the terrain and turf of far-right messaging and narratives”.
Neal Katyal: AG Barr wants to replace Trump as 'coward-in-chief'
In the latest instalment of “Opening Arguments”, former Acting U.S. Solicitor General, Neal Katyal, who wrote the Department of Justice rules governing a Special Counsel, discusses Trump Attorney General Bill Barr’s threat to Democrats, that he might skip a pre-planned House testimony about the Mueller report. Katyal says Barr is “cowardly” for threatening to skip the hearing, but that House Judiciary Chair Jerrold Nadler “will undoubtedly win” if he takes the matter to court.
