Unless it is a frame per frame reshoot of the first movie, every adaption of the book is an original. Any idea how often e.g. Jane Austen novels have been scripted? Question is: is a Stephen King novel worth a reboot? No, the story is known by anyone interested and there is no deeper layer that could be explored.
