Was sent this pm in regards to above post.
What uploaders can do is give the IMDB database code during or after uploading so the IMDB info of that particular movie/TV serie is displayed on the torrent. Uploaders can't change the IMDB info that our site uses, only staff can.

If you want to have a YouTube trailer in your torrent description you can add it there with the YouTube bb-code.

You can copy above answer to the thread.

I've been thinking it over for a while now, and cant seem to make up my mind.
I normally upload ebooks in compressed .tar.gz format, which you first need to extract by an archive application like winzip, winrar, 7zip etc. before opening it in your ebook reader. This arrangement makes it easier for me to manage my uploads that way, rather than juggling with numerous ebook files and folders. I dont gain much by compression, but it makes my life easy.
But this also makes it tedious for downloaders, as they have to first extract and then open the ebook file. This is reflected in the number of seeders of a torrent. Most just hit and run. Or am i being a little paranoid.
So, i'm confused, whether to continue uploading in compressed .tar.gz file format, or to upload ebooks without compression.
A little insight will be helpful...

Open content might be good, because, it can read by downloaders what they are going to download they can determine, is it real, is it have what they are looking for, etc, most of the downloaders avoid wasting bandwidth for anything they never expect, so open content can prove, else it may also help downloaders to get specific file later time if they need it again, this thing considered much interesting to users besides compressed files. But if there are a huge list of ebooks, like bundles or packs, then it might find to reduce the size of a torrent by compression, otherwise, open content might be a good call.

Example: Ebook size, 10 MB, after compression, it shall be around 8.5 or 8.6, I think open content would be much better because not much difference in reducing size, and downloaders can also determine the proper title & format, plus, it saves time to extract and run, Open content is time-saving kinda thing. and as I said, If files are huge in size and you compressed them to reduce 25% 35% space difference then it shall work because you're saving bandwidth. 6 GB to 4 GB. 2 GB saved. (I'm sure you understand what I'm pointing out)

That's my opinion. I know a few might disagree but I told you mine, I would never compress anything besides Patch, crack, keygen, portable software, and mac/linux stuff. Cheers! :)

To be honest I only download uncompressed books and I mean a lot of books every week. I find it to much work to have to unpack them when they are compressed each separate. An ebook is relatively small. I can quickly look at the uncompressed books (which I sometimes don't even do) and then transfer them to my Ereader or my phone.
With packs of books it is a different story as size can be large and downloading a compressed folder saves download time and bandwidth.

I would suggest that you use compressed files only when uploading a large amount of ebooks.
With single books not.
It's easier for the downloader because they can start reading it immediately.
Only the fanatic readers like Angelina:_vip::_trusted_user::_sitefriend::_female::_sitelover::_junkie::_kitty::_sun::_turtle: and me are willing to go thru the hassle of unpacking. As for the sporadic reader they want to download and read without the unpacking.

What is the best way to seed many torrents?

Some of you may be familiar with vonricht torrents,  and I am attempting to acquire, and then seed the collection. Over time, some torrents die and there are no seeders. I am attempting to figure out how I can know which torrents are considered 'dead', and seed those, in hopes to bring them back to life. based on my client qBittorrent, can I know which torrents are dead and then seed just those. Then, on top of that, set my personal, self-created torrents, and seed those at good speeds. Am I asking for too much? Perhaps I need to pause the 'dead' torrents while uploading my 'self-made' torrents, which I am willing to do.

I am using a PIA VPN, as well their SOCKS5 proxy server. Do I need both? My upload speeds seem to be around 1-2 MiB/s, which seems slow based on the fact that my upload should be 35 Mbps.

Please let me know any thoughts or recommendations you have.

Thank you,

All torrents follow the same rules! vonricht or not. It sounds like you are a real beginner, because of that, there is just way too much to discuss in a forum. You'll just have to do more reading to understand torrents. A VPN is works like a Proxy, you don't need both. It's one or the other. My suggestion is use the VPN (if it's paid). If you where seeding it, and all of a sudden you see a red error, or 0 seeds, that means the torrent was deleted off the tracker, and you should not attempt to seed it again. The only reason why a tracker deletes a torrent, is usually when they receive a DMCA complaint.

First of all, thanks for getting back to me! I turned off the Proxy, and yes, I am getting much better speeds. I know I was using both as I had thought I read somewhere that it was recommended.

Regarding the question of dead torrents, thanks for the encouragement to do some research. I found that I needed to change some connections settings and that will help with seeding many torrents.

Regarding the health of a torrent, would I be correct in my thinking that a torrent with a high number in the parenthesis in the seeds column would be 'healthy' and a low number would mean that it is unhealthy?

Yes, that's correct.

Availability

(Also known as distributed copies.) The number of full copies of a file (or set of files and directories) directly available to the client. Each seed adds 1.0 to this number, as they have one complete copy of the file. A connected peer with a fraction of the file available adds that fraction to the availability if no other peer has this part of the file.
Example: a peer with 65.3% of the file downloaded increases the availability by 0.653. However, if two peers both have the same portion of the file downloaded - say 50% - and there is only one seeder, the availability is 1.5.
Sometimes "distributed copies" is considered to be "availability minus 1". So if the availability is 1.6, the distributed copies will be 0.6 because it is only counting the "copies" of the file.

Health

Health is shown in a bar or in % usually next to the torrent's name and size, on the site where the .torrent file is hosted. It shows if all pieces of the torrent are available to download (i.e. 50% means that only half of the torrent is available).

Source: BitTorrent terms.

I'd say thats quite rare - a more common reason is an issue with the torrent (broken audio, missing files, that kind of thing).

I'm not sure if any torrent has been deleted  from TGX becasue of DCMA, but plenty have been removed for other reasons.
