VPN is indeed important for downloading torrents. But it is also important to understand key benefits of vpn. Selecting a vpn provider is always require a bit of research and if you know the key benefits of vpn then it will be easier for you to pick the right VPN.

However, Free vpn is not a good option for torrenting because using free vpn is not secure.

In my opinion, using a VPN is no longer so relevant. Most users and even business companies prefer proxy servers to access information unavailable in their country and protect their personal information from hacking and malicious attacks. Proxies are much easier to set up, and their cost is much lower than a VPN. For example,  can be twice as cheap as any VPN, while the proxy quality is higher. This way, you will benefit in speed, comfort, and safety. The main thing is to choose a reliable, positively proven provider.

funny VPN saved alot of ppl running sites.and still are. myself included.so its still a good thing to do then ofc getting a box 2.

Windscribe, Betternet, TouchVPN, SuperVPN, Psiphon, UnoTelly, EarthVPN..

these are just some of the bad ones that both log and offer help to law enforcement and yes there are more ,,,,,,

top 3 in my book ,,,
Express - good used it for a while, lil slow on the connection and just a bit to laggy for me,
Nord - faster better not a bad vpn keeps massive update and use logs on your system, there avail in your event viewer,  nothing bad nothing that matters legally just a continuing log that keeps getting bigger if you dont delete it on occasion ,,,
Pia - i use it still, lil slower then nord more options cant compare between the 2 seems both have there plus and minuses either would be the best picks for me ....
different systems will act differently so what may work for one may not for another ......:_B)

Have used Express and Nord before on a mixture of hardware, Nord a bit faster than Express on everything, even the lower spec machines. In a fit of temporary insanity (probably after having just gotten a paycheck), I bought a two-year subscription to CyberGhost... what a piece of cr@p. Unstable on almost every spec' I've run it on, no matter whether it's Linux or Windows (haven't bothered on a Mac), the kill switch works when there's a double X in the month, and it's about as configurable as Patrick Stewart's hairdo. Just my opinion of course :_:)

Unfortuantly i`m stuck with Cyberghost lol. The only reason i`m still using it is cause i got a great deal on a popular shareware site for Cyberghost;  paid £80 or so at the time for a lifetime licence and i`m in my eighth year!  :_:) + i can use it on upto seven other PC/devices.
In the past it had it days of being slow, would occasionally disconnect but autoreconnect (with killswitch on etc).  Sometimes on Win 7 (even now) would lag if maximized from taskbar but would eventually appear after a minute or 2 lol. annoying when i wanted to disconnect.

My Micro PC which uses only 5 watts and is now my main computer for torrents; came with Win10 home, tho seems to run alot more smoothly than on Win7, i`ve left it on for 78 hours at a time to share torrents with no disconnects. No interface lags seems very smooth so far no major issues.  (Disclaimer** tho i`ve only used this Win10 Micro PC for just over a month) :_:P

Just saw on wiki that Cyberghost is now owned by the company that owns ExpressVPN as of September 2021.

Does anyone have any experience with or feelings about protonvpn.
(Proton.me) they're offering free vpn with no logs and no bandwidth limitation.   I use their email service  but have not seen the vpn mentioned anywhere.  

It may be that they just started offering a free version.  
I use a software proxy from another company and havent had issues, just curious to know if protonvpn is any good.

Just lost my patience with CyberGhost and bought a two-year sub to pia on the basis of the above... going to hold you personally responsible Sbm if this doesn't work out :_:-):_:-) :_:-*:_:-* but it just has to be a :_shitload better than CyberInstability. It surely can't be any worse :_facepalm :_facepalm :_facepalm

Socks 4/5 should always be added to torrent clients on top of a vpn, add a vpn setup directly to your router then have one running on your pc then add a socks to your torrent client. If your looking for something a little faster take your usb flash drive to best buy and plug it in all the high end computers out on display for a second or 2, then go home and have full root of all their computers :_:-) Then when those computers are sold you have free roots for life of the pcs. However you choose to hide yourself always have a backup of a backup :_:-*:_:-*:_:-*
