    .                        CNN Political Comedy Special:

Colin Quinn Stars in CNN’s First-Ever Comedy Special

CNN is getting into the business of comedy specials, and it’s kicking things off with Colin Quinn. The network announced today that it’s added a new hour-long special from Quinn titled Red State Blue State, a presentation of his Off Broadway show of the same name that ran in New York earlier this year. In the special, Quinn “brings the funny tackling the absurdities, hypocrisies and calamities on both sides of the political divide.”

“Everything that occurred in this country, to [the people on the left], is still under the cloud of this racist, sexist [agenda]. Nobody’s denying that part — I’m not denying that part — but that’s not all of anybody’s whole story,” Quinn told Vulture about the show back in January. “And then the other side, the right, is like, ‘No, we’re all good.’ So there’re these two sides of ignorant, definitive truths, [and] in a world of subjective truth, they think there’s objective truth. And that bothers me when anyone does it.”

“We are always looking for new ways to engage our viewers by exploring the issues that are most important to them,” CNN talent and content development EVP Amy Entelis said on the news. “Colin Quinn’s show is a smart political satire that speaks to what is dividing our country.”

Like the Off Broadway show, the special is directed by Bobby Moresco, and Tony Hernandez, Brian Stern, Amy Entelis, and Lizzie Fox all serve as executive producers. CNN aired Red State Blue State on Memorial Day — Monday, May 27, at 9 p.m.

This is to supplement the information posted by BB and Pawpcorn.

I haven't posted any shows to my Yandex folder lately, but I have DLed
several shows, and I think I have the complete MSNBC lineup.

I checked both listings (titantv), postings at youtube, and the two
messages from BB and Pawpcorn, doublechecked items, finished editing
the shows, and also got some more shows.

gs: ret Lt. Col. Ralph Peters
    - The full show had been posted earlier by Pawpcorn

Based on past experience and perusal, and I watched the DWH A-block segment,
most of the daytime shows appear to contain new material.

MJ was a special taped hour on Memorial Day per Mika.
Yasmin Vossoughian is one of the guests, and she hosts
the next hour, solo.  So there is probably new material.

Hallie Jackson appears on her usual 10 am hour (hosted by Chris Jansing),
but Hallie is covering Trump's trip in Japan.

If anyone wants copies of any of these (ones with numbers at the end
derive from youtube postings, other copies (evening shows) are ML
derived in SD resolution), you can post a message on the forum or
via PM.  If there's sufficient interest, I would upload to Yandex.

    Image errorCNN The Howard Stern Interview 2019 05 27 720p WEBRip x264-PC

    Howard Stern diagnoses Trump’s ‘narcissism’:
He was ‘traumatized’ in childhood and needs therapy.

    Altnet.org; written by Eric W. Dolan / Raw Story May 27, 2019

Radio host Howard Stern told CNN's Anderson Cooper in an interview this week that President Donald Trump experienced a traumatic childhood and probably needed psychotherapy to recover.

Stern has known Trump for decades and frequently interviewed him on his show before he entered politics. In his new book, Howard Stern Comes Again, he details some of his experiences with Trump.

“From what I know of Donald and his relationship with his father, it sounds traumatic. It sounds like the father was very domineering. The father expected a lot of him. And the father, I don’t know, there was military school. You know, you read these drips and drabs and you go wow,” Stern explained.

“I can assure you he’s been traumatized. Because, you know, Donald, you know, his level of narcissism is so strong. He has troubled with empathy. We know that. And I wish he’d go into psychotherapy. I’d be so proud of him if he did, and he would flourish.”

But Stern said there was “no way” that Trump would actually ever attend psychotherapy sessions.

He also told Cooper that he doesn’t believe Trump enjoys being president.

“I don’t think he likes being president at all. I think he liked winning the presidency. He likes to win. And, again, I’m not Donald Trump’s psychotherapist and I had many good laughs with Donald,” Stern said.

“And in some ways I feel that he has been wronged the way they used my transcripts in a way to frame him. And I’ll give you an example. When he said the line about STDs being his Vietnam, that was a very jokey thing on my show.”

“If you went back and listen to the tape, you would not take that seriously. He was in the spirit of the program. And then he was, you know, they tried to use that against him, ‘Hey, he’s being — how dare he compare himself to a veteran of the Vietnam War who served when he didn’t serve.’ All right, everybody take a deep breath and relax,” Stern added.

“But having said that, the stuff I put in the book I think is very revealing about our now president and there’s something to be learned there.”

    Howard Stern Comes Again
    by Howard Stern

Rock stars and rap gods. Comedy legends and A-list actors. Supermodels and centerfolds. Moguls and mobsters. A president.

Over his unrivaled four-decade career in radio, Howard Stern has interviewed thousands of personalities—discussing sex, relationships, money, fame, spirituality, and success with the boldest of bold-faced names. But which interviews are his favorites? It’s one of the questions he gets asked most frequently. Howard Stern Comes Again delivers his answer.

This book is a feast of conversation and more, as between the lines Stern offers his definitive autobiography—a magnum opus of confession and personal exploration. Tracy Morgan opens up about his near-fatal car crash. Lady Gaga divulges her history with cocaine. Madonna reminisces on her relationship with Tupac Shakur. Bill Murray waxes philosophical on the purpose of life. Jerry Seinfeld offers a master class on comedy. Harvey Weinstein denies the existence of the so-called casting couch. An impressive array of creative visionaries weigh in on what Stern calls “the climb”—the stories of how they struggled and eventually prevailed. As he writes in the introduction, “If you’re having trouble finding motivation in life and you’re looking for that extra kick in the ass, you will find it in these pages.”

Interspersed throughout are rare selections from the Howard Stern Show archives with Donald Trump that depict his own climb: transforming from Manhattan tabloid fixture to reality TV star to president of the United States. Stern also tells of his Moby Dick-like quest to land an interview with Hillary Clinton in the run-up to the 2016 election—one of many newly written revelations from the author. He speaks with extraordinary candor about a variety of subjects, including his overwhelming insecurity early in his career, his revolutionary move from terrestrial radio to SiriusXM, and his belief in the power of psychotherapy.

As Stern insightfully notes in the introduction: “The interviews collected here represent my best work and show my personal evolution. But they don’t just show my evolution. Gathered together like this, they show the evolution of popular culture over the past quarter century.”

The CNN host impersonated Donald Trump’s personal attorney — and suggested some roles for him on the reelection campaign.

Anderson Cooper pulled no punches as he ridiculed a report that Rudy Giuliani is eager for a prominent role in President Donald Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign team.

The host of CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360°” on Tuesday said he didn’t doubt the availability of the former New York mayor, whom he described as a “legal whoopee cushion.”

“The market for his services, screaming and saying stuff that isn’t true, it’s kinda limited, and frankly the president has most of that stuff covered anyway,” Cooper said of Giuliani, who is now Trump’s personal attorney.

Cooper later suggested Giuliani could end up being “an in-demand surrogate, doing phone-in interviews from inside a cigar humidor or making dubious claims at high-profile events,” impersonated the lawyer, and then summed up what could be his “most valuable quality” to the president.

CNN: MUELLER MAKES FIRST PUBLIC STATEMENT ON RUSSIA PROBE

Image errorMUELLER FIRST PUBLIC STATEMENT ON RUSSIA PROBE (& CNN PANEL) 2019 05 29 720p WEBRip x264-PC

Special counsel Robert Mueller made a statement on Wednesday about his investigation, reiterating the decisions he made in his report. While Congress has been trying to hold a hearing with Mueller, he said during the press conference that the report is his testimony and that he would not go beyond anything that has already been revealed. Below is a transcript of his remarks.
    @cspan
WATCH: Complete statement from Special Counsel Robert Mueller
    https://twitter.com/cspan/status/1133759047231053824    <<== CLICK TO WATCH!!
    FULL TRANSCRIPT:
Thank you for being here. Two years ago, the Acting Attorney General asked me to serve as Special Counsel, and he created the Special Counsel’s Office. The appointment order directed the office to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. This included investigating any links or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the Trump campaign. Now I have not spoken publicly during our investigation. I’m speaking out today because our investigation is complete. The Attorney General has made the report on our investigation largely public. We are formally closing the Special Counsel’s office, and as well I’m resigning from the Department of Justice to return to private life. I’ll make a few remarks about the results of our work. But beyond these few remarks it is important that the office’s written work speak for itself.

Let me begin where the appointment order begins: and that is interference with the 2016 presidential election. As alleged by the grand jury in an indictment, Russian intelligence officers who were part of the Russian military launched a concerted attack on our political system. The indictment alleges that they used sophisticated cyber techniques to hack into computers and networks used by the Clinton campaign. They stole private information and then released that information through fake online identities and through the organization Wikileaks. The releases were designed and timed to interfere with our election and to damage a presidential candidate.

And at the same time as the grand jury alleged in a separate indictment, a private Russian entity engaged in a social media operation where Russian citizens posed as Americans in order to influence an election. These indictments contain allegations, and we are not commenting on the guilt or innocence of any specific defendant. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The indictments allege, and the other activities in our report describe, efforts to interfere in our political system. They needed to be investigated and understand. And that is among the reasons why the Department of Justice established our office. That is also a reason we investigated efforts to obstruct the investigation. The matters we investigated were of paramount importance and it was critical for us to obtain full and accurate information from every person we questioned. When a subject of an investigation obstructs that investigation or lies to investigators, it strikes at the core of the government’s effort to find the truth and hold wrong doers accountable.

Let me say a word about the report. The report has two parts, addressing the two main issues we were asked to investigate. The first volume details numerous efforts emanating from Russia to influence the election. This volume includes a discussion of the Trump campaign’s response to this activity, as well as our conclusion that there was insufficient evidence to charge a broader conspiracy.

And in a second volume, the report describes the results and analysis of our obstruction of justice investigation involving the president.

The order appointing the Special Counsel authorized us to investigate actions that could obstruct the investigation. And we conducted that investigation and we kept the Office of the Acting Attorney General apprised of the progress of our work.

And as set forth in the report after that investigation, if we had had confidence that the President clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so.

We did not, however, make a determination as to whether the president did commit a crime. The introduction to the volume two of our report explains that decision. It explains that under long-standing Department policy, a President cannot be charged with a federal crime while he is in office. That is unconstitutional. Even if the charge is kept under seal and hidden from public view, that too is prohibited. The special counsel’s office is part of the Department of Justice and by regulation it was bound by that Department policy. Charging the president with a crime was, therefore, not an option we could consider.

The Department’s written opinion explaining the policy makes several important points that further informed our handling of the obstruction investigation. Those points are summarized in our report, and I will describe two of them for you. First, the opinion explicitly permits the investigation of a sitting President because it is important to preserve evidence while memories are fresh and documents available. Among other things, that evidence could be used if there were co-conspirators who could be charged now. And second, the opinion says that the Constitution requires a process other than the criminal justice system to formally accuse a sitting President of wrong doing. And beyond Department policy we were guided by principles of fairness. It would be unfair to potentially — it would be unfair to potentially accuse somebody of a crime when there can be no court resolution of the actual charge.

So that was Justice Department policy. Those were the principles under which we operated and from them we concluded that we would not reach a determination, one way or the other, about whether the President committed a crime. That is the office’s — that is the office’s final position, and we will not comment on any other conclusions or hypotheticals about the President.

We conducted an independent criminal investigation and reported the results to the Attorney General, as required by Department regulations. The attorney general then concluded that it was appropriate to provide our report to Congress and to the American people. At one point in time I requested that certain portions of the report be released. The Attorney General preferred to make that — preferred to make the entire report public all at once, and we appreciate that the Attorney General made the report largely public. And I certainly do not question the Attorney General’s good faith in that decision.

Now I hope and expect this to be the only time that I will speak to you in this manner. I am making that decision myself. No one has told me whether I can or should testify or speak further about this matter. There has been discussion about an appearance before Congress. Any testimony from this office would not go beyond our report. It contains our findings and analysis and the reasons for the decisions we made. We chose those words carefully and the work speaks for itself. And the report is my testimony. I would not provide information beyond that which is already public in any appearance before congress.

In addition, access to our underlying work product is being decided in a process that does not involve our office. So beyond what I have said here today, and what is contained in our written work, I do not believe it is appropriate for me to speak further about the investigation or to comment on the actions of the Justice Department or Congress. And it’s for that reason I will not be taking questions today as well.

Now before I step away, I want to thank the attorneys, the FBI agents, and analysts, the professional staff who helped us conduct this investigation in a fair and independent manner. These individuals who spent nearly two years with the Special Counsel’s Office were of the highest integrity.

And I will close by reiterating the central allegation of our indictments — that there were multiple, systematic efforts to interference in our election. That allegation deserves the attention of every American.

Thank you. Thank you for being here today.

Thanks as usual to BB for posting MLs, and LarMer and Pawpcorn
    for posting shows.

A special thanks to Pawpcorn for uploading a CNN special
breaking coverage of Robert Mueller's live statement.

I got a very nice PM recently telling me that an Admin had promoted
me to Trusted User, along with nice remarks.

This presentation is considerably different than usual; it is not an
attempt to list all the new shows I've uploaded to my Yandex folder.

Rather I came across some compelling information that I feel
is quite important to bring to your attention, and this was
even BEFORE the announcement that Mueller was going to speak.

My initial selections are shows that I had actually watched
or extensively perused.  Of course once 10 am rolled around,
MSNBC went Live with special coverage.

I didn't have time after the MSNBC Live (2019.05.29) (10 am)
(gs hs Chris Jansing, Ari Melber) show to just watch anything.

My second Yandex folder wouldn't accept anymore shows,
so I had to create a third folder; look for a PM from me
    for access to it.

Also, youtube (Google) went into its extensive blocking
of DLs, which created a lot of excessive work, using
    different browsers, PCs, and VPNs.

However, I did look over the later shows, and I think
you will have a lot of very interesting viewing.

The two AM Joy episodes extensively discussed the issue
of impeachment, and these are well worth watching.

Two recent segments from MJ have knowledgeable people
make presentations about how Trump could win.  First
is Bret Stephens, NY columnist.  The second is
Prof. Allan J. Lichtman, who was almost alone
    in successfully predicting Trump's election.
Prof. Lichtman clearly explains what the Dems
need to do (impeach) and why.  Don't miss it.

I think the shows I have yet to watch, will show that this
is a pivotal moment in history, that forces are converging
and that the future of our democracy and way of life
depend on wise judgments by all responsible parties.

The other panelists who sparred with Dr. Lichtman were
WAY too complacent, and probably never read any of his
material (or seen his presentations).  Don't forget
the days leading up to the 2016 election.  Everyone
thought Hillary would win, and by all rights she did
with nearly 3 million more votes than Trump, but Comey
made a tragic, major blunder, and Trump had the invaluable
help of Putin and his criminal enterprise that poses
as some kind of government.  Urgent action is needed
to removed Barr, Trump and Pence, the sooner the better.

I do understand Speaker Pelosi's concerns; her party
suffered a true shellacking after passing the Affordable
Care Act.  But like BB agreed, there's a massive failure
of imagination.  There's an assumption that the Senate
GOP will refuse to even allow an impeachment trial,
and that Trump's defeat in the election is very likely.

Perhaps, and I do hope so, but as frequent AM Joy guest,
Sarah Kendzior (who has studied authoritarian states),
people who are used to living with norms and the rule
of law, often cannot imagine the depths of depravity
some people are capable of stooping too, especially
under the influence of a leader adapt at mass
persuasion.  Just look at what happened at Munich
in 1938.  Britain's PM Neville Chamberlain was
a decent person, but he couldn't imagine how
evil Adolph Hitler would become.  When there's
a failure of imagination, often part of the reason
is that decent leaders don't want to believe
the truth.  If the truth is really understand
then more dramatic, costly, forceful and painful
measures will be demanded to confront the pending
danger.  And just like Trump and his cronies
don't want to deal with the danger of climate
change, and many GOP members don't want to
deal with the danger of Trump, the present
leadership has hopes -- but will need more
drastic evidence that serious danger is at hand.

    Discussed Today:
  • Mueller makes history: Not confident Trump 'did not commit a crime'
Mueller breaks his silence to resign as Special Counsel and deliver a statement. Ari, Maya Wiley, John Flannery, Eugene Robinson, and Neal Katyal break down the key takeaways and answer the critical question: What’s next?
  • Democrats demand Mueller testimony
In his historic statement, Bob Mueller talked election meddling and DOJ rules, but did not mention convicted trump aides or specific evidence on trump. A former prosecutor who worked with Mueller says the special counsel’s testimony to Congress may now be more important than ever.
  • DOJ insider hits ‘naïve’ Mueller in AG Barr ‘faith’
Bob Mueller addressing why he did not reach a conclusion on whether Trump committed obstruction and in the process he appeared to contradict his boss: Attorney General William Barr. Matt Miller and John Flannery, break it down with Ari.

Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler responds to Mueller’s remarks saying “all options on table” to address the President’s "crimes.
  • Katyal: Mueller tell-all 'devastating' for Trump
The person who wrote the Special Counsel’s rules, Neal Katyal, discusses how Robert Mueller handled his end-of-probe statement and what it means for the Special Counsel’s legacy.
  • Republican who served in Congress makes case for impeaching Trump
Former Republican Congressman Tom Coleman joined with a progressive activist in calling for Democrats to begin impeachment hearings for President Trump. Rep. Coleman said failure to do so would mean Democrats “condone wrongdoing,” and therefore “encourage it.”
  • Curious new memo from Mueller's office juxtaposing Barr's and Mueller's statements on reaching a decision on obstruction
NBC News' Julia Ainsley talks to MSNBC's Ari Melber about an interesting handout reporters received from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office following the press conference. The document appears to somewhat dispute how Robert Mueller would have answered the question on how heavily the Special Counsel's office leaned on the OLC memo on their decision on whether to pursue charges against a sitting president. The memo highlights how AG Barr answered the question at a press conference.

    Discussed Today:
  • Beto O’Rourke on impeaching Trump: Act now or lose our democracy forever
Robert Mueller made clear that he was bound to the Justice Department's legal opinion, that a sitting President can’t be indicted while in office. On whether Congress should impeach, Beto O’Rourke says, “We will be judged by how we face these facts."
  • Joaquin Castro: ‘Long term damage to the country’ if we don’t impeach Trump
To impeach or not to impeach. That is the question that now confronts House Democrats after Special Counsel Robert Mueller broke his silence today.
  • Rashida Tlaib on impeaching Trump: It’s our duty
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has remained opposed to impeachment. But as more Democratic lawmakers come out in favor of an impeachment inquiry, will Pelosi hold to that position?
  • Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders differ on calls for impeachment
For the two leading progressive challengers to Trump, the answer on impeachment is different. Senator Elizabeth Warren said "it's up to Congress to act. The Constitution leaves it up to Congress to act -- and that's impeachment!" Senator Bernie Sanders said "if" the House Judiciary Committee deems it necessary to open an impeachment inquiry, he will support the decision.
