So I didn't really NEED the segment information for Ari's show,

But is it nice documentation and good to get, and I have
from time to time lamented that it wasn't readily available.
Did you see this post?

And just exactly how do you do that?  By Twitter?  By filling out a form?
I use (1) Twitter; see handles here and (2) the MSNBC contact page. I post anonymously, and will continue to do so.

    Discussed Today:
  • Inside the secret Trump impeachment meeting
Speaker Nancy Pelosi met privately with the majority of House members to debate impeaching President Trump, in response to private and public lobbying by some Democrats that an impeachment probe is the best way to confront White House stonewalling. Member of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, joins Ari Melber to discuss why she has unveiled a new resolution that would authorize the Judiciary Committee to “investigate whether sufficient grounds exist for the House of Representatives” to exercise impeachment power.
  • Rep. Schiff: Barr has Giuliani’s 'duplicity' without his 'looks'
In a new interview with MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent, Ari Melber, House Intelligence Chair, Adam Schiff made news discussing former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and the Mueller report, telling Melber Rosenstein should testify before Congress and that his committee is "taking steps along that regard." Schiff also notes that in his view, Rosenstein “willing to make too many accommodations to keep” his job.
  • Legal blow: Judge backs dem subpoenas for Trump bank records
A federal judge has issued a ruling backing the democratic subpoena for Trump’s banking records, rejecting Trump’s effort to halt it. MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent, Ari Melber, breaks down how this is the second straight court loss for Trump’s effort to defy subpoenas and unless a higher court steps in, Trump is getting crushed on multiple fronts judicially.
  • Trump bails on meeting as Pelosi blasts impeachable 'cover-up'
President Trump stormed out of a meeting with congressional leaders after just three minutes, claiming he could not discuss infrastructure policy unless Congress halted its work overseeing the executive branch. MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent, Ari Melber, breaks down how even though Trump claims he doesn’t “do cover-ups,” the Mueller report documents Trump and his aides lying, sometimes in the form of felonies and obstruction.

    Hi members!

Nice to see some other activity in this thread besides
me and to see BB and Pawpcorn active again. :)

Yes, I have DLed and carefully read BB's reply and will
be responding shortly.  But first I wanted to finish up
this message so that interested members know that more
new shows have been uploaded.  This message was started
before BB posted any MLs.  When I discovered there
were new links, I DLed MJ and DWH and uploaded them.

I then got 4 more shows, including a better copy
of TEH (hence number 2).  I then found 3 more
MLs were posted by BB, and I DLed and uploaded
    those shows too.

Here's what's been added since my previous msg.:

All In with Chris Hayes (2019.05.22)-1.mp4
    The Rachel Maddow Show (2019.05.22)-1.mp4
The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell (2019.05.22)-1.mp4
    - includes handoff from Rachel
The 11th Hour with Brian Williams (2019.05.22)-2.mp4
Morning Joe (2019.05.22) (hs Mika Brzezinski & Joe Scarborough).mp4 44:02
Deadline- White House (2019.05.22) (hs Nicolle Wallace).mp4 47:53
    Late Night with Seth Meyers s6-107 (May 22, 2019) - A Closer Look.mp4 [720] 10:36
    The Late Show with Stephen Colbert s4-152 (May 21, 2019) - Monologue.mp4 [720] 11:16
    The Late Show with Stephen Colbert s4-153 (May 22, 2019) - Monologue.mp4 [720] 10:13
    MTP Daily (2019.05.22) (hs Chuck Todd).mp4 46:48
The Beat with Ari Melber (2019.05.22).mp4 44:11
Hardball with Chris Matthews (2019.05.22).mp4 43:48

These have all been uploaded to my Yandex folder.

All told, with Pawpcorn's post of Morning Joe First Look, basically
the ENTIRE MSNBC lineup of shows from 5 am to 12 midnight for
    yesterday was uploaded or posted.

There was also a better copy of Face the Nation, and a CNN show,
Inside Politics, and 3 late night show monologues in 720 format.

I've gotten more adept at finding MSNBC shows on youtube,
including identifying users who generally either do a
better job or are more reliable, as well as finding
    their posts with less searching.

Knowing that sometimes MSNBC can be remiss in how promptly
they post their links, can occasionally be defective, for example
the missing A-block to an episode of MTP Daily or even the
lack of posting of a week's worth of DWH, and I had located
GOOD copies of several shows that normally do get MLs
(eventually), I felt it would be PRUDENT to go ahead
and grab them for any users that wanted copies, as they
don't stay up too long.  And of course for TLW, I felt
it was prudent to start DLing copies of this show,
since MSNBC seems to think it's just fine to air
the handoff on live TV, but regards it as extraneous
for the 'full episodes' (which no longer seem full
to me).  Plus I certainly remember when I used to DL
Furrbear's episodes, there were many times when I
REALLY wanted to watch a certain show to know what
was going on and yet had to wait for hours, or
go to youtube for an earlier posted copy to watch,
or use the posted ML to watch the show (in 720)
using VLC but not DLing it.  Some users have told
me that they are expats and cannot otherwise watch
    these should without my uploads.

So it's always nice to DL the better copy of TB,
which is the copy I prefer to watch, but I did
go ahead and watch the A-block using the earier
YT copy.  Likewise, when I watched yesterday's
TLW, I watched the handoff from the YT copy,
then the rest of the show using the ML copy.

I hope these explanations are helpful and
members can find things they want to DL
    and/or watch.  There's a lot happening! :)

    Regards,

    drhankh

    Dear BB,

Thank you sincerely for your reply, as I really do welcome
feedback, especially from you, for whom I have great and
    longstanding respect and affection.

I do sincerely apologize if the tone of my message came
across as condescending in any way; it was NOT intentional,
but afterwards I assessed that it made have caused such
    a reaction.

Yes indeed I did.  In fact I spent an awful lot of time
going through the message traffic on this topic to make
sure I had the complete thread.  Not only did I see it,
but I carefully DLed and edited a text copy of it and
in fact EVERY message in that thread, before doing
my analysis or writing my assessment.

Also, you might note that I posted a Like, which is
indicative that I had seen it.

I tried out the link (e.g., the Google search), as well
as each and every link that Pawpcorn provided.  I did
this VERY carefully and methodically, since I am a
professional, and this is how I do things, even when
    I work Pro Bono.

Yes, I saw that this was helpful, and that Pawpcorn
was picking up the segment information using the
alternative technique you had helpfully provided
but primarily I was responding to Pawpcorn and his
concerns, but to you as well since you were trying
    to help him.

This is what I thought, but I wanted to make sure that these were
the facts.  I operate on the basis of FACTS, rather that simply
assumptions, which while often correct, are not always so.

Not only did I visit that page, some time ago, but I did post
a Like for it, ages ago.  It was one of the first posts I read
    when I joined TGx.

I have used this page in the past at your urging, though I did
not report doing so.  Whenever, I used that page, I did use
my actual name and left a real email address.  No I did not
get any replies, but the issues did get resolved.

I do have a twitter account, but rarely use it, and have rarely
posted anything using it, but have done so.

You probably don't remember this, but my first PM to you was
on Dec. 31, 2015 at KAT.  How do I know?  I saved all of those
PMs, so that even when KAT went down twice, I still have those
messages, and they are backed up frequently.

My PM refreshed my memory that you did occasionally post torrents,
including for some of the MTP Daily shows featuring guest host
    Steve Kornacki.

I can certainly appreciate that for anyone posting torrents
of recent material that could be construed as protected by
U.S. copyright law, it is prudent, if not essential to protect
    your actual identity.

However, when I created drhank, I had a dialup connection,
(and I still have my then state-of-the-art 2400 baud modem).

Most of my DLs consisted of soundtrack music and comic book
scans.  A lot were done via posts made to Yahoo groups
and links to services like YouSendIt, later RapidShare
and MediaFire, and much via usenet.  You may recall that
Furrbear posted his shows to usenet, and that's where
I got them (until he stopped doing so).

I really didn't attempt to DL any TV shows, since I thought
that the files were way too big and would take way too long
to DL.  This was even after I got 1 MB DSL.

This didn't change until by chance I discovered from a msg.
posted to a Yahoo group (primarily from British users)
that there was a way to watch the newer iteration of
Doctor Who, which I had never seen and wasn't airing
in the States.  So I sent a private email and learned
that the episodes were posted as torrents, and on my
own, that they were also posted to usenet.  I then
began DLing a LOT of TV shows, and for a long time
    it was mostly via usenet.

Because of the nature of usenet, where you are generally
only DLing but not also uploading, as with torrents,
    it was relatively safe.

I have occasionally posted items to various places
including usenet and some torrents, but did not
    do so too often.

Hence I never really saw the need to create a totally
    anonymous ID for general use.

Anyhow, this is a bit long-winded or detailed, but I did
want to explain that we had different histories, so our
    approaches are different.

I was pretty sure that you were using twitter and wanted
to remain anonymous.  I guess what I was TRYING to convey
was that while your past approach was probably fine
to get action for the occasional missing post of a show,
my strong feeling was that something like this, where
The Beat's webpage was totally redesigned and replaced
needed or more overt form of contact or it would be
ignored.  I was NOT trying to criticize or to persuade
you to do something different, and I was implying
that I would consider making an overt contact myself,
using my real name.  The old design which offered
the links were for US customers who had access
to MSNBC (such as via a cable or satellite provider),
and so there was CERTAINLY a legitimate case for
real customers to complain about this.  I am sure
that there are some users who may not have DVRs,
may not know quite how to use them, and those
who may prefer to watch a show without any
    commercials.

Since I don't generally post any shows via torrents
or to usenet, I felt comfortable undertaking that
task if you and Pawpcorn wanted me to do so.

So I do hope his explanation is helpful.

Remember, Pawpcorn went on vacation for 8 days
with downtime, and I realized that since I DL his
shows anyway, I could help out users by filling
in.  I already had an unused Yandex folder, so It
seemed to make sense to jump in.  I certainly
wasn't going to suddenly create a new ID.

There wasn't any master plan at the outset. :)

    Sincerely,

    drhankh

    Hi people,

The following show was posted to my yandex folder:

The Rachel Maddow Show (2019.05.22).mp4 45:07

I realize that Furrbear eventually stopped posting
his shows, the three leaders (BB, LarMer and Pawpcorn)
continued posting the MLs and torrents, and after
the resurrected KAT lost months of our data,
they decided to switch to TGx.

So the three of you have been a team for some time,
and I was more or less just a regular member, albeit
one who occasionally posted messages or PMs.

Pawpcorn went on his 'downtime' as he said he was
going to.  It didn't affect me personally, I had
already been DLing all 10 MSNBC shows available
via the MLs.  But after a few days, I realized
that there may be some users who didn't know
how to DL shows using the MLs and the youtube-DL
program with its command line options.  I know
how to use it and ML.bat, so it's second nature,
but it took a while to learn how use youtube-DL,
and I'm sure there are plenty of users who don't
or can't use it.  Rather they DL LarMer and
    Pawpcorn's torrents.

This began as simply filling in for Pawpcorn
with the expectation of stopping once he
    returned and resumed posting torrents.

    However, I realized some things.

    I have a really fast 10 GB fiber-optic
connection, which unlike DSL, can upload
as fast as it downloads; I also have a
    fast 5G Wifi internal connection.

I can DL a single MSNBC show in SD format
    in less than a minute.

Since I am not creating torrents or pages,
I can post shows quite quickly.

Pawpcorn did some of the daytime MSNBC shows
for a while before KAT went down, and he
does a few non ML MSNBC shows, generally
Morning Joe First Look.  But for the most
part, none of the non ML shows were getting
    captured and posted.

I realized that I could take advantage
of the efforts of other users and capture
decent copies of the daytime and weekend
shows.  Pawpcorn was so interested in
Saturday Night Politics with Donny Deutsch,
that he went ahead and captured and posted
    the third episode.

And there are of course many other good shows
that I was able to post, such as the PBS
    Newshour.

However, if this effort really is viewed
more as interfering with an established
way of doing things, I can stop posting
    shows and messages.

I have gotten favorable comments via PMs,
but it IS rather time consuming.

So anyone is free to express themselves
and indicate what they want or don't want.

    Anyone can post a message or send me a PM;
it this effort is NOT wanted, it would save
me a LOT of time and work.  Of course I would
still leave the Yandex and pCloud folders up
and the shows posted there would remain available
    to DL.

    Sincerely,

    drhankh

    Hello BB and Pawpcorn:

    BB wrote:

I never detected ANY 'snarkiness' from you, and I did feel that you were
just asking me if I had seen it 'nothing more, nothing less.'

However, I did feel and still do feel that you felt irritated that I had
by implication criticized you, when you apparently felt you had done
things above and beyond what should have been expected.

MOST of my message was actually directed to Pawpcorn, who had asked:

    > Do you have any personal ideas / opinions (guesses even?) about why MSNBC
    > has decidedly stopped the public-facing "The Beat..." streaming page?

    You replied:

    > I've thought about it but have no reasonable guesses. ...

Pawpcorn had posted a detailed reply for me, so I researched the issue
thoroughly, did a syncretic analysis and shared my findings, which
were available for anyone to read.

This is a summary of my analysis:

    > ... my findings with a high degree of confidence are that someone
    > on Ari's staff redid the cookie cutter MSNBC show webpage, with
    > the intent to highlight Ari's unique 'empire' of special features,
    > segments like Opening Arguments and Fallback Fridays and the

    > want to know what segments are included in each episode.

    > The designer was simply trying to pitch attention to
    > these 'unique' or 'special' features, and no one really
    > realized that he screwed up.

    > This is an example of 'one hand doesn't know what the other is doing.'

    > The persons who create the Full Episodes simply don't know, don't
    > realize that they aren't appearing on Ari's page.  In fact, they
    > have no idea what's on his page.  They just assume when they create
    > the full ep. and ML, it will get posted just like all the others do.

    > It's not their job to double-check each show's webpage to ensure
    > their producers are properly posting links to the shows.

I stand by my analysis; neither of you seemed to have a solid
answer.  My analysis is not a guess; this is based on science
using mathematical and logic-based routines.  The science has
been battle tested numerous times and shown to be highly accurate.

The main thing I would like for you and Pawpcorn to accept
is that this was my honest attempt to answer his question.

Whether you find this information persuasive or useful
    is totally your choice.

    Sincerely,

    drhankh

Trump Seems To Be Transparently Mad
    Washington Post
    Image error
    By Dana Milbank
    Op-ed columnist covering national politics
    May 22 at 6:53 PM

This is not the work of an orderly mind.

President Trump stormed into the Cabinet Room 15 minutes late Wednesday morning and immediately proceeded to blow up a long-planned meeting with Democratic leaders about an infrastructure bill. He raged against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for the terrible, horrible things she has said about him, and he vowed not to work on any legislation until Democrats stop investigating his administration. He stomped out of the room before Democrats had a chance to reply, then marched into the Rose Garden for an unscheduled news conference — or, more accurately, a 12-minute parade of paranoia.

Positively everybody was out to get him. They were out to get him in the third person: “They hated President Trump. They hated him with a passion,” he said. They were out to get him in the first-person plural: “These people were out to get us, the Republican Party and President Trump. They were out to get us.” What’s more, they have been after him “pretty much from the time we came down the escalator in Trump Tower.” And now they probably will impeach him because they “do whatever they have to do.”

He raged on. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) has “been an enemy of mine for many years.” The “whole thing was a takedown attempt.” The assembled press “ought to be ashamed of yourselves for the way you report it so dishonestly.” And, even though he was the one who blew up the infrastructure meeting, he just knew that Democrats were “not really thinking they wanted to do infrastructure or anything else other than investigate.”

He ricocheted randomly among inchoate thought fragments: Infrastructure. WITCH HUNT! Unemployment. NO COLLUSION! Drug prices. HOAX! A special election in Pennsylvania. ONE-SIDED HORRIBLE THING! Tax cuts. DON JR. HAS GONE THROUGH HELL! I love the American people. IMPEACHMENT! Regulations. A DISGRACE! ABUSE!

Nobody seemed to know what to make of the explosion. White House officials reportedly said they tried to stop Trump from making the Rose Garden appearance. And for good reason: With Wednesday’s public announcement that he won’t negotiate with Democrats, the president has taken ownership of the lack of progress on infrastructure and other legislation — much the way he took ownership of the government shutdown.

And for what? The remark Pelosi made that apparently set Trump off — “we believe that the president of the United States is engaged in a coverup” — is something Democratic leaders have said before (Pelosi’s deputy, Maryland’s Steny Hoyer, accused Trump two weeks earlier of “the greatest coverup of any president in American history”) and something well supported both by the Mueller report and by Trump’s steadfast refusal to cooperate with congressional inquiries. Besides, if Trump doesn’t want to legislate while Democrats investigate, why did he launch infrastructure talks with them in the first place?

“Hello?” Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) said after Trump’s tirade, “There were investigations going on three weeks ago when we met, and he still met with us.”

What changed, apparently, is the president’s state of mind. People often describe him as “unraveling,” but that implies he was once fully knitted. Whatever his mental starting point, those seeking the method in Trump’s madness lately have encountered less of the former and more of the latter.

The rage, the Nixonian paranoia and the scattered thinking suggest that he feels walls closing in on him. But his own actions are causing the walls to close. Democratic leaders don’t want to impeach him; Pelosi’s “coverup” remark was in the context of her fighting off members of her caucus who wish to proceed immediately with impeachment. And Trump, even if he thinks impeachment will help him politically, surely doesn’t desire to become only the third president so stained. Yet, each day, his belligerence and refusal to cooperate leave Democrats with less of a choice. He’s stumbling toward impeachment.

On Wednesday, he started tweeting before 6 a.m. about “NO COLLUSION” and impeachment and “PRESIDENTIAL HARASSMENT!” From that fragile mental state, all it took was one line from Pelosi to propel Trump to the Rose Garden with a poster taped to the presidential lectern announcing such things as “NO Collusion” and “18 Angry Democrats.”

“I don’t do coverups,” announced the man who paid hush money to an adult-film star and who is now fighting legal battles to conceal his tax returns and business records. “I’m the most transparent president, probably, in the history of this country,” he also said.

In one sense, that’s true: Trump’s state of mind is utterly transparent, revealed in real time. At the moment, he seems to be transparently mad.

Back at the Capitol, Pelosi reacted with concern more than anger. “I pray for the president of the United States,” she said. “And I pray for the United States of America.”

    So should we all. :warn

    Hello friends,

This morning I initiated upload of the following 3 shows:

All In with Chris Hayes (2019.05.22).mp4 43:43
The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell (2019.05.22).mp4 44:08
The 11th Hour with Brian Williams (2019.05.22).mp4 44:11

    I then went to bed.

The shows made it safely to my Yandex folder.

I reviewed activity at the thread, posted Likes and queued up
    several torrents posted by Pawpcorn.

In view of what I felt was an undercurrent of hostility and
disinterest, I decided this will be my last message announcing
any uploads to my Yandex folder.  This task was time consuming
and after recent events became no longer pleasurable.

My voluntary fill in for Pawpcorn has completed.

Things can now largely revert to how they had been earlier.

As to whether I will be DLing anymore of the daytime MSNBC
shows or other shows, I do not know, nor do I know whether
I may upload any.  If you were interested in getting these
shows, you can always check my folder from time to time.

If you find something new you want, you can DL it; if DLs
appear to cease, then you can assume uploads have stopped.

    Good luck all,

    drhankh

    Discussed Today:
  • Inside the secret plan to hold several Trump officials in contempt
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is taking a noticeably slower approach to holding vote on whether Trump Attorney General Bill Barr should be held in contempt of Congress, than previous Congressional leaders. MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent, Ari Melber, breaks down how even though Democrats may be taking a slower approach, it is not necessarily less aggressive. Pelosi’s team tells The Beat, they may try to bring multiple contempt resolutions to the House floor at once “in the interest of efficiency.” Melber notes this could include former White House Counsel, Don McGahn or Trump Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.
  • Pelosi taunts Trump: 'Stable genius' needs an 'intervention'
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is firing back at Trump after his temper tantrum at their meeting, using Trump’s meltdown to try to unify her divided caucus. Former Prosecutor John Flannery argues Pelosi has “failed her primary mission” by not starting impeachment proceedings, because “if you have checks and balances and don’t use them, then you have a monarch.” Former Trump aide Sam Nunberg tells Ari Melber, that when Trump “has to start saying “I’m a stable genius” that’s where it really hits him personally.”
  • Chair Schiff says Dems taking steps to make Rod Rosenstein testify
Attorney General Barr’s Department of Justice, is agreeing with some Democratic demands to share some Mueller evidence with the House Intelligence Committee, the apparent breakthrough came after pressure from House Intelligence Chair. Rep. Adam Schiff. In a new interview with MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent, Ari Melber, Schiff says former Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein should testify before Congress and that in his view, Rosenstein was “willing to make too many accommodations to keep” his job.
  • News anchor recounts Trump’s Kanye-level tantrum
President Trump stormed out of a meeting with congressional leaders after just three minutes, claiming he could not discuss infrastructure policy unless Congress halted its work overseeing the executive branch. MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent, Ari Melber, breaks down how even though Trump claims he doesn’t “do coverups”, the Mueller report documents Trump and his aides lying, sometimes in the form of felonies and obstruction.
  • Scandal: Trump is first President to indict press for espionage
The Trump administration has become the first administration to ever charge a publisher with “espionage.” MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent, Ari Melber, breaks down how the Justice Department’s new indictment of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange directly challenges press freedom and the first amendment and alleges activities by Wikileaks that many American journalists engage in. New York Times National Security reporter, Charlie Savage, say the new indictment from the Trump administration does not stay “away from traditional journalistic activity.”
