| New Orleans Metro Area Mardi Gras Krewes Ducks of Dixieland, The - New Orleans - an eclectic bunch of men and women: by day they're social workers, graphic artist, schoolteachers, executives, even a member of the coast guard. By carnival, they're Ducks for a day (or two) -- New Orleans Magazine 1998. Knights of Babylon - New Orleans - The Jester's Club, the sponsoring organization of the Knights of Babylon, was founded on June 24, 1939 by a group of New Orleans professionals who wanted to stage a first-class parade for the public and a first class Tableau Ball for their ladies. Knights of Nemesis Social Club and Parade - St. Bernard - On May 17, 2004 a group of St. Bernard businessmen and several long time carnival parade riders came together and formed the Knights of Nemesis Social Club and Parade. The Knights of Nemesis mission is to become "A businessman's social club with the intent to promote business and fellowship within St. Bernard Parish." Knights of Sparta - New Orleans - In 1981, the Knights began parading in Orleans Parish. The Knights are still known for their elaborate bal masque tableaus, now staged at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner, and for their traditional, yet innovative, street parade on the first Saturday on the Carnival parade season. KOE Marching Club - New Orleans - Known officially as the KOE. History events and pics of the krewe. Krewe d'Etat, Le - New Orleans - heeds only edicts from their Dictator, whose identity is never revealed, and claim the streets of New Orleans annually and present a parade without peer on the Friday before Mardi Gras, or "Fat Friday" as it is now known. Le Krewe d'Etat emerged in 1996 as the preeminent krewe and now boasts numerous floats with many riders. Krewe of Apollo de Lafayette - New Orleans - The Mystic Krewe of Apollo was founded in New Orleans in 1969 to foster brotherhood, unity and equality within our society. Krewe of Aquila - Metairie - Since arriving on the Mardi Gras scene in 1976 this couples and singles club has established itself as an organization that stages one of the most elaborately costumed Carnival balls and street parades of each season. Krewe of Argus Mardi Gras Parade - Metairie - get information on riding or sponsoring a float in the Argus parade. Krewe of Armeinius - New Orleans - The Krewe of Armeinius holds New Orleans' most lavish and satirical gay carnival ball.
