A Strange Tale Indeed!

Image error

It may be the oddest tale to emerge from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Armed dolphins, trained by the US military to shoot terrorists and pinpoint spies underwater, may be missing in the Gulf of Mexico. Experts who have studied the US navy's cetacean training exercises claim the 36 mammals could be carrying 'toxic dart' guns. Divers and surfers risk attack, they claim, from a species considered to be among the planet's smartest. The US navy admits it has been training dolphins for military purposes, but has refused to confirm that any are missing.

First 2005?  a long time in the ocean for any equipment. I doubt the dolps have any control over ther darts . Navy is probably using em like drones with a wired camera controlled like on torpedos . The escapees could still be alive as they live around 40 years depending on enviroment but weapon free by now.  Interesting source. B)

The actinomycetes are rod shaped or filamentous. Those that are rod shaped may form long, branching, chains of cells. Many actinomycetes form true filaments that branch and form colonies that look like fungi, although the diameter of the filaments is much smaller than that of the fungi.

It’s impossible to hum while holding your nose

You just tested it, didn’t you? Normally, when you hum, the air is able to escape through your nose to create the sound, and of course, it can’t do that when you’re holding it shut. This is one of the weird facts you can test out for yourself. Go ahead, try it.

Marie Curie’s 100-year-old belongings are still radioactive.

Image error

Nobel Prize-winning scientist Marie Curie died as a result of the vast amounts of radiation she was exposed to during her groundbreaking work. But her body wasn’t the only thing to absorb the emissions. Her clothes and belongings—including her furniture, cookbooks, and laboratory notes—were also saturated with the deadly radium particles. That’s why, even though Curie died around 85 years ago, her possessions are still radioactive.

And since radium has a half-life of 1,601 years, they’re likely to stay that way for a while. Currently, Curie’s laboratory notebooks are being safely stored in lead-lined boxes at France’s Bibliotheque National in Paris. Anyone who wants to see them has to first to sign a liability waiver and then agree to wear protective gear.

I never knew that .Dutch processed Chocolate is my Favorite.
Dutch process chocolate or Dutched chocolate is chocolate that has been treated with an alkalizing agent to modify its color and give it a milder taste compared to "natural cocoa" extracted with the Broma process. It forms the basis for much of modern chocolate, and is used in ice cream, hot cocoa, and baking.

Earthworms can have five, 10 or zero hearts, depending on how you define "heart." They have five pairs of aortic arches that run along the length of its body (or 10 single arches, if you count each pair as two separate structures).
