MSNBC's Rachel's Hand-Off to Lawrence, Jan. 09, 2019, 720p

Duration: 2:20 Minutes

Does Trump watch "The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell"?

Image errorMSNBC's Rachel's Hand-Off to Lawrence 2019 01 09 720p WEBRip xVID-PC

Often, the highlight of the MSNBC broadcast day is Rachel Maddow's hand-off to
Lawrence O'Donnell. You can learn a lot in the brief conversations these two
veterans have about the news of the day.

Tonight:...
Lawrence and Rachel discuss yesterday's (HIDDEN-PURPOSE) FUND RAISING
email,  soliciting contributions, where the HEADING stated that Trump Supporter
contributions would go to a "Fund The Border Wall Fund" whereas the FINE PRINT at
the bottom actually revealed that the money would go directly towards Trump's 2020
Re-Election Campaign!! What a SCAM!!! 8o

TOO, he points out in tonight's Hand-Off that there was the SECOND PROMOTIONAL
OFFER EMAIL which was sent IMMEDIATELY AFTER the broadcast, that made a SECOND
pitch for money!!

Point being, and as Lawrence and Rachel joked about, that this pointed out that the
Oval Office broadcast was just yet ANOTHER SCAM, in Trump's LONG HISTORY of SCAMS,
and was, in reality, the DIRECT PURPOSE of even HAVING the  Oval Office Broadcast,
to begin with, by this 'flim-flam reality-show huckster con-man of a fake 'president'!

Later, AFTER the Hand-Off, within Lawrence's show, he reveals that yesterday, Trump's
RAGE TWEET... 'directed' at "MSNBC" was ACTUALLY aimed DIRECTLY at Lawrence;
but that Trump HATES Lawrence intensely, and refuses to use Lawrence O'Donnell's
name, directly.

Lawrence explains that HIS SHOW, last night, was the ONLY {or first?} show to expose
the shameless FUND-RAISING EMAIL that Trump's Re-Election Campaign sent out
PRIOR to the "presidential" Oval Office broadcast yesterday, thus making the point
that Trump's RAGE TWEET HAD to be directed at Lawrence;

This begs the question, Does Trump watch "The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell"?  :-@

    .               Shepard Smith Reporting, 3pm, Jan. 09, 2019, 720p
    Image error
    Duration: 51 minutes

    Image errorShepard Smith Reporting 3pm 2019 01 09 720p WEBRip xVID-PC

Shepard Smith pulls together new technologies and social media to bring viewers the latest
in news, weekdays at 3pm, on Fox News.

{No, no, no, I haven't lost my mind, nor focus, nor have I become the slightest bit
"leaning towards the horrid 'State Media' that Fox News represents.

HOWEVER, among the broad cast of Trump-bootlicking "newscasters" that Fox employs...
Shepard Smith (and Chris Wallace, to some extent, although I generally find him "unwatchable" )
stand out alone, as actually being surprisingly balanced UNBIASED TALENTED Reporters.

In FACT, portions of Shepard Smith's newscasts are often featured on MSNBC's many newscast shows.

How Shepard Smith "survives" on Fox News... is a mystery of its own. Check out:
    https://www.theguardian.com/media/2018/oct/30/fox-and-friend-how-shepard-smith-became-the-voice-of-reason-at-fox-news
    https://www.google.com/search?q=how+does+shepard+smith+survive+on+Fox+News

I've NEVER had the pleasure of watching an entire "Shepard Smith Reporting" show,
since I've never had a method for watching a Fox News feed... until very recently.

TOO, the show airs at 3am in MY time zone...

I'm always trying to keep an open mind, AND I think it's kind of fun to see these amazing new
production sets, and some style differences, in the "State Media" Fox News Channel.
    Enjoy!}

    Discussed Today:
  • Gov. Terry McAuliffe: 50% chance I'll challenge Trump in 2020
On the week Elizabeth Warren became the first Democratic candidate to challenge Trump, Former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe made news by telling MSNBC’s Ari Melber there’s now a 50% chance he’ll jump in the 2020 race. He also discussed his claim that Democratic presidential candidates should avoid “dishonest populism,” asserting he was not referring to Warren, when pressed by Melber, who noted she was currently the only candidate in the race.
  • Michael Cohen's lawyer on how Cohen will expose Trump to Congress
In an exclusive interview, Michael Cohen’s legal advisor, Lanny Davis, joins MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent Ari Melber, to discuss the bombshell revelation that Trump’s former lawyer will testify before the House Oversight Committee in a public, on-camera hearing, weeks before he reports to prison. In a wide-ranging interview, Davis reveals that he has had “constructive discussions” about Cohen potentially appearing before other House Committees, that the days of Cohen “lying for Trump are over” and that they will work to ensure testimony is “voluntary rather than under a subpoena”.
  • Michael Cohen ready for his “John Dean” moment
Michael Cohen has agreed to testify before the House Oversight Committee in the weeks before he reports to prison, in an on-camera, public hearing that has already been compared to the Nixon era. In 2018, Cohen’s own advisor, Lanny Davis, said: “Remember John Dean? It’s just the beginning”. Watergate Prosecutor, Nick Akerman and attorney Maya Wiley break down what the public could potentially learn from Cohen’s testimony. Wiley tells Ari Melber that the testimony has the potential to be “even more important than the Mueller report”.
  • Trump 'Art of the Deal' co-author: It’s been fraud all along
President Trump has failed to make a deal that could end the ongoing Government shutdown, having been rebuffed by Mexico and the U.S. Congress in his attempts to get funding for a border wall. Former Trump Organization Executive, Barbara Res, tells Ari Melber Trump never accepts responsibility and that with Trump, “it’s always someone else’s fault”. Co-author of Trump’s “Art of the Deal” Tony Schwartz also joins the discussion, noting that most of the deals discussed in the book “were failures” and the deals “since then have overwhelmingly been failures”.

    Discussed Today:
  • Matthews: Trump is getting clobbered by Pelosi, Cohen
Chris says Trump is getting clobbered by Speaker Pelosi and his former fixer/lawyer Michael Cohen.
  • Rep. Wexton on government shutdown: It’s Donald Trump’s fault
Friday will be the first payday that roughly 800,000 federal employees will not get paid. On Thursday, furloughed federal workers took to the streets to voice their objection.
  • Trump closer to declaring a national emergency to build wall
During his tour at the southern border, Trump signaled to be moving closer to declaring a national emergency for his wall. Senator Lindsey Graham urged the President to use his emergency powers saying "it's time."
  • Trump on Cohen testifying: I’m not worried about it at all
President's former lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, has agreed to testify in public before the House Oversight Committee next month.

    Duration: 1:21 Minutes
    Major News Insight {BUT GLEANED OFF-AIR, DURING COMMERCIAL BREAK!!}

    Image errorMSNBC's Rachel's Hand-Off to Lawrence 2019 01 10 720p WEBRip xVID-PC

{I've taken the liberty of including the final 1/2 minute of TRMS in this Hand-Off,
    since it supplies the exact context for Rachel and Lawrence's Hand-Off conversation.}

Often, the highlight of the MSNBC broadcast day is Rachel Maddow's hand-off to
Lawrence O'Donnell. You can learn a lot in the brief conversations these two
veterans have about the news of the day.

    Tonight:...

In this somewhat BRIEF Hand-Off, some minor "Behind The Scenes Drama!"

Rachel breaks one of her LONG STANDING (self-made) RULES she's made (and TRIED to follow,
over the years) of NOT continuing to talk with her "The Interview" guest, during commercial
break!! Tonight she felt compelled to eat into almost a MINUTE of Lawrence's show, to share
the news / insight she had just gleaned from her guest, OFF AIR, in relation to Ruth Bader Ginsburg
and her prospects for recovery from her recent surgery of removing a lobe of her lung!

After revealing her background of self-imposed rules to Lawrence, he reveals that he's got
a different tactic that he uses to avoid making the same mistake... He just focuses on the
upcoming portion of the show instead, which just naturally helps him keep his mouth shut!

CNN's hopes to get out front in the chase for morning news ratings get an early start with this entry, which kicks off each weekday at the get-the-coffee-brewing hour of 4 a.m. Eastern. It's co-anchored by former ABC News correspondent Ashleigh Banfield and Zoraida Sambolin, a fixture in the Chicago early morning news market since 2008. The tag line for "Early Start" is "News from A to Z," but its viewers can typically expect to see the same formula that morning news shows have used for years, and that is a mix of hard news, entertainment segments and some surprises thrown in along the way.

    Discussed Today:
  • False alarm: Why Trump's wall "emergency" is a fraud
President Trump’s Government shutdown is now the longest in U.S. history, with 800,000 workers now missing their first pay checks. Trump claims he is closer to declaring a National Emergency to get the money, but won’t do it “so fast”. Ari Melber breaks down how if you can delay something, schedule it or decide later whether or not it exists, it’s probably not an emergency. Howard Fineman tells Melber Trump’s shutdown over border wall funding is “probably the most glaring example of a phony issue that has resulted in real pain”.
  • Why Mueller does not have final say on 'Mueller report'
The final decisions about Special Counsel Mueller’s work could soon be in the hands of Trump’s Attorney General pick, William Barr. In a Special Report, MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent, Ari Melber, examines how the confirmation hearings for Barr could be a pivotal moment in the Mueller probe, drawing on parallels from the Nixon era and the Watergate probe to show how the Senate can require Barr, under oath, to back up Bob Mueller.
  • Fallback Friday: A special toast to MSNBC Moms
Celebrity Chef and judge on “Top Chef”, Tom Colicchio slams Trump’s “border wall” as the Trump shutdown becomes the longest in history. Plus, he gives the very first review of brand new “The Beat” wine glasses, telling Ari Melber “the glass is really nice” and he likes the “blue etching”. Plus, Comedian starring in Netflix’s “The Degenerates” Liza Treyger calls out anyone criticizing the “Fiji Water Girl” who many say stole the show at the recent Golden Globe Awards. NBC News’ Harry Smith tells people who have vandalized the Joshua Tree National Park to fall back, saying their behaviour is “despicable”.

An old Western TV series has gone viral over an
episode that predicted Donald Trump’s presidency!!

A 1950s Western TV show is literally Twilight Zone-ish,
in its terrifyingly accurate portrayal of Donald Trump’s
presidency. The character even shared his name!

Trackdown; Season 01, Episode 30: The End of the World (1958 ) 480p
    Image error
    Duration: 23 Minutes

Image errorTrackdown S01E30 The End of the World 1958 720p WEBRip x264-PC

We’ve all read stories of popular TV shows predicting future events with
    sharp accuracy.

Arguably the most famous is The Simpsons, which predicted a President Trump
    way back in 2000.

But this latest example — taken from a 1950s American Western series — is way
more eerie in how perfectly it captures 2019.

Trackdown, a TV show which ran from 1957 to 1959, features a character named
Walter Trump — a con-artist who claims he can prevent the end of the world by
    — wait for it — building a wall.

The eerie comparison has gone viral after Twitter user Alex Hirsch posted it to
    Twitter: https://twitter.com/_AlexHirsch/status/1083140191362048000

In the 1958 episode, Walter Trump — played by actor Lawrence Dobkin — proposes
building a giant wall to stop a “cosmic explosion”. But what makes it even eerier is
the similarity of the character to the President.

For one thing, the TV character threatens to sue Texas Ranger Hoby Gilman for
insulting him. Sound familiar? That’s because Mr Trump has repeatedly threatened
to sue anything and everything that’s portrayed him in an unflattering light,
including US media outlets, non-profit organisations and the nearly dozen women
who accused him of sexual assault in 2016.

For another thing, their speech patterns are eerily similar.

In a short clip from the show, Walter Trump says: “I am the only one. Trust me.
I can build a wall around your homes that nothing will penetrate.

“You ask how do you build that wall. You ask, and I’m here to tell you.”

The 1950's Trump V.S.  the 2019 Trump. Eerie as hell.  :-@

    Spoiler UPDATED today.
{Personal Note: I watched this just last night... and upon waking up today,
my mind was rather overwhelmed by the similarities (of SO MANY of this tale's
plot segments) that it was all I could think about, for awhile.  I think TOO, it was
the source for some of the bizzare dreams I had last night! Spooky as HELL!! :-@ )

The viral clip comes amid an ongoing spat between the US President and the
Democrats over funding for a wall to be built on the US-Mexico border.

From the Oval Office,  Mr Trump issued a desperate plea to his nation to end what
he deemed America’s “cycle of suffering”.

In his first ever nationally televised prime-time address from the Oval Office, the
President called for stronger border protection, saying the US had “run out of space”
to hold the immigrants crossing the US-Mexico border.

Trump tweeted back on April 13, 2018:
"Tremendous pressure is building, like never before, for the Border Wall and an
end to crime cradling Sanctuary Cities. Started the Wall in San Diego, where the
people were pushing really hard to get it. They will soon be protected!"
