Use of BB-codes

When you are posting in the forum or making a description for your torrent you can use BB-codes to make up your text. Above the box where you post your text or description you can find the options you can use.

Instead of using the buttons, you can also type the BB-codes yourself.

BB-codes:

Size – [size=size]text[/size] - To increase the text size, choose size 1 up to 6 or use drop down menu.

Color - [color=colorname]text[/color] - Make colorful text. You can type in a color in the BB-code or use the drop down menu.

Justify - [justify]text[/justify] - To make text at justify.

Center - [center]text[/center] - To make text at center.

Right - [right]text[/align] - To make text at right.

Bold - [b]text[/b] - To make bold style text.

Italic - [i]text[/i] - To make italic style text.

Underline - [u]text[/u] - To make underlined style text.

Strikethrough - [s]text[/s] - To make ~~striked through~~ text.

List - [*] - For making a list. Puts a dot in front of your text.

Example

Quote - [quote=name]text[/quote] or [quote]text[/quote] - For quoting a text. You can either display the name by using a name or just quote without using a name.

You can also use [url=https://www.google.com/][img]image link[/img][/url] to link the image so when someone clicks on it he/she goes to the link.
Example:

Example 2:

Image Resize - [img width=number in px]image link[/img] - Resize an image to the desired wide. You can use a wide up to 900. The image will shrink to fit the wide of your screen.

Youtube - [youtube]link to video[/youtube] - Displays a Youtube video. Be sure to use the link that starts with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=

Torrent Widget - [torrent=torrent-id] - Displayes a clickable widget that links to a torrent.
Example:

At the bar you also see another button:

With the button you can view a preview of your post or torrent description.

Forum widget:
[forum=post id]When on the forums you can add a widget to a post to a specific topic or post. Go to the topic or post that you want the widget to link to. Click on BBCodePermalink to copy the bb-code for the widget and paste it in your post.

Example:

Tips and tricks....

Using a 'soft enter':
If you want a bb-code to show as text instead of what the bb-code is for you can use a 'soft enter' on Windows inside the bb-code. To add a 'soft enter' press shift + enter.
Example with the User bb-code: [user= shift + enter Angelina] gives [user=angelina] instead of Angelina :_vip:

Post or torrentdescription showing white:
Sometimes when you have a lot of bb-codes the post/description can show up white:

When this happens there is either a typo in one of the bb-codes or you are missing part of a bb-code.
In the example above I typed this:

If you look closely at the bb-codes you will see that the end code of the bb-code for bold is missing.

By adding the end code of the bb-code the post will show.

Using other text-colors then the standard site colors:
Instead of using the standard colors from the

button you can also use Hex colors (# followed by 6 numbers/letters).
Example: using [color=#cdaa7d]#cdaa7d[/color] turns into #cdaa7d.

AND... as Angelina pointed out to me, at the CURRENT TIME, only ONE "spoiler" is permitted on a forum post.

...if you try to use a SECOND spoiler code... it will simply open the FIRST spoiler text (not the second),

As Mafketel has been so kind to point out to me... NESTED spoiler codes DO work correctly; but not when on separate lines.

IE: THIS (nested format) works:

I'm told too, that this item is under review by the technical team at TorrentGalaxy, and MAY be revised (to allow multiple spoilers on separate lines) in the future.

The FIRST spoiler is shown again... when you click the SECOND spoiler + sign

I didn't see this oddity when I first posted it; IE discovered it a week later, and never went back to break it into TWO SEPARATE Forum posts...

After that, I went back and asked Angelina about this directly, and got this response from here:

Hi! Is there any way to change the SIZE of the youtube preview image... that's presented when using the
[youtube] bb code?

The preview still image expands to fill the entire size of the displayed web page screen, which can look quite awful.

What I'd LIKE to do... is force the preview width to be 575, ALWAYS, which would match the overall themes in my presentations:

You understand I'm talking about the YouTube PREVIEW STILL IMAGE (not the video image) right?

When using the [youtube] bbcode, this preview still image shrinks or expands to totally fill the browser window.

#1 Example: browser set to a medium-wide size:

#2 Example: brower set to a narrow width:

#3 Example: browser set to full screen; [youtube] preview image expands to full screen width:

...it would be so nice to be able to set the width of the preview still image with something like the [img width=575]... tool, provided for images. I'm TOTALLY HAPPY with the YouTube VIDEO playing FULL SIZE, when it's video is played. It's just the ever-expanding preview image that is troublesome. :(

Anyway, thank you for looking at this! I LOVE TorrentGalaxy, and you staff guys ROCK!!!! :love

No. you need an image host, take the link, put in your avy address. ensure has correct extension. IE: jpeg, png, gif

Upload the image to the image host of your choice, get the link, go to your settings and paste the link in the "Avatar img URL" box. Click "Submit" and you're done. DO NOT use bbcode, only the bare link. It should start with https:// and end with an image extension, such as .jpg. .png, or .gif

Ok thanks to all i used postimages.org and had to go back and resize. Direct link seemed to add additional text before https which i didnt notice till i used my laptop instead of the phone.

Mike is correct but it's not that strait forward. There may be an easier way that I'm unaware of but here's how I do it. First you need two copies of each screenshot, in your case, one blurred and one not. For my example, I used https://imgbb.com/ but I'm sure it will work with most legit image hosts. You need to upload the blurred image as a thumbnail and the clear image full sized.
Basically what your doing is making the thumbnail a clickable link that points to the full size (clear) image.
For example, this is the code I used to create the screenshot below:

It's a fairly involved process but I hope this helps.
I'm better at doing things than I am at explaining how I do them :_:D
